Black Swan

To get an idea of Darren Aronofsky's approach to films, I decided to watch Black Swan, this has helped me to get inspired and has helped me develop my own ideas. As this is quite a dark film and PI is also quite dark I want to portray a lot of dark sounds into my design. Although the PI clip I am doing is not jumpy, it still has a moment of anger which I really want to get across. 

Fight Club

I have been looking at various different films and scenes to get some inspiration for the way I want to design the sound for PI, I decided to look at a scene from Fight Club and depict the different sounds used. This will give me an idea of how to fill a space with sounds.

Sound Design

This is a screenshot for the sound editing of solaris, I found this task a good way to get to grips with pro tools.

Week Two

This week we have been working with the cinematography group recording sound, this was a chance to use a mixer which i has not used before.
During this me and Mike had a lot of troubles first setting up the equipment and after a long delay, it was worked out that it was a problem with the XLR cable.

When working with the cinematogrpahy group we attempted to record sound through the camera, but this also lead to problems for me and Mike and in the end we had to let another group do the sound recording.

Equipment used.

Mixer - Wendt 3 Channel mixer.

Sound Design PI

In the sound design project, i've decided to choose PI, this is a film i have previously seen and enjoyed, so i thought it would be a good chance for me to put my own mark on it.
